Complexome Profiling Workshop 2019

Petra Palenikova

During the last weekend of November, I participated in the Complexome Profiling Workshop in Nijmegen, Netherlands.  The workshop was organized by scientists from the Radboud University Medical Center and the aim was to bring together experts using complexome profiling technology. In mitochondrial biology, complexome profiling is used to study mainly the composition and the assembly of mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes. The weekend was full of inspiring talks, useful tips and information about new developments in the field. During the Saturday session “Showcasing computational tools for the analysis of complexome profiling data” I got a chance to present a software tool that I was developing during my REMIX secondment with Rick Scavetta. This was a great opportunity to get feedback on my work and a unique networking opportunity. I am happy to be part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie ITN REMIX which allows me to enhance my skills in areas of my interest via secondments and attendance of workshops and conferences.
